Grace or no grace !?!

Wow. I had a few questions like this after my previous two posts…

“so, should we never have rules AND have an ample supply of grace?…”

” where do we draw the line as to when to be strict/ impose discipline to a sub-ordinate?”

” if we give grace, how can we expect our colleagues or workers to be tough and work fast on a deadline…won’t they take advantage if we are too soft?”

………and more.

People have this underlying fear. If I show or give too much grace, then I might/will be taken advantage of.

We need to know that the higher the grace given, the higher the responsibility.

How do I say that? In Matthew Chapter 5 in the Bible it says,

Matt 5:21 You have heard that it was said to the men of old, You shall not kill, and whoever kills shall be liable to {and} unable to escape the punishment imposed by the court.

Matt 5:22 But I say to you that everyone who continues to be angry with his brother {or} harbors malice (enmity of heart) against him shall be liable to {and} unable to escape the punishment imposed by the court; and whoever speaks contemptuously {and} insultingly to his brother shall be liable to {and} unable to escape the punishment imposed by the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, You cursed fool! [You empty-headed idiot!] shall be liable to {and} unable to escape the hell (Gehenna) of fire.

We are out of the law and under grace, but with it comes a higher level of responsibility.

So the more the grace, the higher the responsibility.

The more grace given, the more responsibility one holds toward the grace given. For example, a person who has received grace from Jesus is more accountable since he has tasted "grace".

At the workplace, more than accountability, grace helps us own up to ourselves and we become more responsible even toward ourselves. Which reflects in our accountability at work.

The above comment was in answer to the question by Pani Thuly :

"So does that mean that if someone gives me grace at the workplace then I have to be more accountable? Is that what you are saying?"

God bless!
